How Does Your Garden Grow?

On March 11, 2012, in Social, by Brian Savoie

As the crocuses and tulips rise out of the ground, the second growing season for two South Silver Spring community gardens is quickly approaching.  On Monday, February 13th, Gordon Clark, project director of the Montgomery Victory Garden program, presented a seed starting class to over 50 community members in the Eastern Village Co-housing dining room. Clark serves as a representative to both the King Street Community Garden (adjacent to the 7-eleven) and the Fenton Street Community Garden (corner of Fenton and East West Highway)

While the class was intended for gardeners at the two local gardens, due to high interest and demand gardeners from far and wide descended into South Silver Spring for this class.

Clark intends to offer gardening classes throughout the summer and fall on a variety of topics.  He will be offering an Introduction to Vegetable Gardening Class tomorrow at 7:30 PM in the Eastern Village Co-housing dining room.  For more information or reservations, contact Gordon Clark at
