The Washington Post headline says it all: "New traffic signal coming in Silver Spring"

The good news: "The program, scheduled for completion in the summer of 2011, will upgrade signals between East-West Highway and Wayne Avenue. In addition to rebuilding the signals and installing pedestrian countdowns, the work includes upgrading the sidewalk ramps and the nearby street lighting."

I hope they are also planning to resurface and repaint too! Swerving to avoid potholes is rather difficult when you have 3 lanes of traffic without lines to delineate them.
