The South Silver Spring Neighborhood Association, in conjunction with the Silver Spring Regional Center, is hosting The 2nd Annual South Silver Spring Block Party!

What You Need to Know

• Date/Time: June 8, 2008 from 11am - 5pm
• Where: Kennett St., from Newell Ave to the Kennett St. garage AND Newell Ave from East West Hwy to the 8045 Building parking garage
• Why: Break out of your apartment and condo building and meet your neighbors in South Silver Spring! Let's start building a community in this new residential area! Last year nearly 2000 people participated with over 40 vendors and 10 live performances and this year is going to be even bigger!

Get Involved

The Block party will incorporate elements that everyone can enjoy, creating a very festive, energizing atmosphere. We are looking for people to help in a variety of ways.

• Band/Entertainment Recruitment: musicians, dancers, clowns, etc
• Children's Play Area: arts & crafts, games, magicians, storytellers, etc.
• Vendors: local artists, businesses and restaurants selling their goods
• Logistics: help coordinate one of the many aspects that go into the event
• Sponsorships: Solicit local businesses for donations of money or goods
• Volunteer Coordination: help with logistics, setting-up and tearing-down
